Like a united way campaign, United Arts Funds provide an opportunity for individuals and businesses to make one annual gift which supports a variety of arts organizations and programs. United Arts Funds work to broaden support for the arts, promote excellence in the arts and arts management and ensure that arts organizations are financially stable.
Many businesses and individuals do not have the administrative ability or desire to evaluate requests from dozens of organizations. The Cultural Council's United Arts Fund provides fair and equitable review criteria in order that donors can be assured that their funds are allocated objectively and with a measure of financial responsibility on behalf of the cultural organizations and programs that are supported.
The United Arts Fund is made possible by generous donations from our community. Each donation helps promote and enhance the arts in Richland and Lexington counties.
Your Donation to the Cultural Council Helps Support:
- 14 arts and history organizations with $272,147 operating support
- 38 artists, arts organizations and schools with $33,877 in Quarterly Grants support
- Cultural programming and artistic advancement throughout the Midlands through the Quarterly Grants program
- Arts Education support through the Arts Education Fund and the Artist in Residency Program
- The local economy with an impact of over $10 million dollars
- Over 200 cultural events
- Technical Assistance Programs to help the arts help themselves
- Helps economic development by attracting businesses and industry, especially in the knowledge-based economy
- A vibrant cultural community
