Windows Mixed Reality completely broken, can’t uninstall

  • 0

Out of nowhere whenever I put my vr headset (hp reverb g2 v1) on or try to start wmr, the window opens for about 2 seconds then closes without giving an error message. The headset never turns on.

I attempted to uninstall windows mixed reality portal but no matter what I do the app remains on the start menu. The only thing that is changed is that when I put the headset on it now tells me that wmr must be installed, yet I still have the app on the start menu (if I run it, it fails the same way as it did before). If I try to go to the microsoft store to reinstall it, the store crashes once I get to the wmr page. I can’t even uninstall the wmr for steam vr app.

I’ve attempted uninstalling from the settings menu, the uninstall application page, and using powershell.

If you have any idea how to fix this cartoonishly broken program on my computer please give me advice here, my vr is essentially bricked until I can fix this.

Update: I went into WindowsApps and deleted all of the folders with mixed reality in the name. Doing this stopped the microsoft store from crashing on the mixed reality portal page, and I can press the download button but it gives me error code 0x87AF000B
